If Croatian Post is found responsible after completing the claim procedure, you are eligible for compensation for your loss. You may send your claim for compensation of loss and refund of postage together with the claim procedure decision as a postage-free registered item to:

The following will be paid to you in case of loss, total damage to or deterioration of the content of a
postal item:
Registered item HRK equivalence of 30 DTS
Valuable item specified value
Parcel*
parcel with specified value – specified value; parcel without specified value – HRK equivalence of 40 SDR per parcel + 4.5 per kilogram or part of kilogram of parcel weight
International EMS or hpekspres item for items containing documents – up to 30 SDR; for items containing
goods– up to 130 SDR, except where bilaterally agreed otherwise

* applies to parcels of up to 10 kg and parcels between 10 kg and 20 kg
SDR is translated to HRK in accordance with the applicable General Terms and Conditions. The mean value of SDR for 2019 is HRK 8.8919
In addition to compensation, Croatian Post will refund the price of the postal service paid, exclusive of the portion of the postal service price paid for the value indicated on an item with indicated value. In addition to being compensated for their loss and refunded the postage, the sender or any other authorized person will also be paid statutory default interest accruing as of the date of submitting the claim. If all or part of a lost item is found after the compensation has been paid, Croatian Post will notify the sender or any other authorized person, who will be required to refund the compensation if they wish to receive such subsequently found postal item. Otherwise, Croatian Post will be entitled to destroy the postal item or sell its content. Croatian Post is not liable for lost profit or actual damage incurred as a result of loss, damage to or deterioration of the content of a postal item or failure to meet the time limit for transferring or delivering a postal item. Also, Croatian Post will not be responsible for how a postal item containing items for which import is prohibited or restricted in the destination country will be treated in the destination country, unless such prohibitions or restrictions were disclosed in the destination country’s terms and conditions of accepting postal items before the item was shipped.
