Croatian Post has the mission to be at the service of citizens. By developing new services corresponding to users' needs, especially digital ones, Croatian Post has proven itself as a modern company for modern times. Croatian Post regards digitalization as a growth philosophy and it underlies a number of development projects that should make different services provided by Croatian Post available to all users at all times.
Croatian Post is the leading company in the postal services market in the Republic of Croatia.
Croatian Post is the biggest postal service provider in the Republic of Croatia and the only universal service provider under the provisions of the Postal Services Act. What moves us everyday are our employees, more than 10,000 of them, and all of our 1,016 post offices throughout Croatia.
In addition to services pertaining to posting and delivering post, Croatian Post currently provides its users with a plethora of other services. The mission of Croatian Post – being at the service of citizens – is reflected in the development of digital services, the offer of different financial and insurance services, as well as a diverse retail range, and the option of submitting numerous requests and applications addressed to other state institutions.
In the Post 2022 Development Strategy, Croatian Post puts an emphasis on the development of its core business operations through the improvement of business processes and the introduction of business innovations. In this, it follows the imperative of quality in order to provide its users with the best service and to be the best postal operator in the region. Entering new markets through the development of logistic capacities and regional expansion is also a part of this development strategy, as is the commitment to excellence, which is achieved only by developing the knowledge of all employees.
Digitalization is not the future, it is the present. Croatian Post became aware of this fact soon enough and it currently spearheads digital transformation. Croatian Post started investing in spatial capacities, new post sorting systems and machines, as well as information and communication technologies. The construction of our new sorting centre is almost finished and, in addition to six new letter sorting machines, which have been in operation since 2017, a new parcel sorting machine will also be put into service in 2019. Our post delivery digitalization project was also brought to a close and our postmen and women now use smartphones and portable printers on a daily basis as they deliver post to recipients.
In 2019, Croatian Post continued to invest in digital development, this time putting an emphasis on the growth of people and investing in them. The greatest strength of every company lies in its employees and this is why the development of employees' knowledge and competencies features prominently in the Post2022 Development Strategy.
Croatian Post roots its development in knowledge, quality, reliability, creating new business segments and conquering new markets while introducing numerous innovative services and emphasising socially responsible business operation. In 1993, Croatian Post took part in the establishment of the association of European public postal operators – PostEurop – and it is a full member of that association.
Since 1992, the Republic of Croatia has been a member of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) established in 1874. The UPU's aim is to co-ordinate global postal policies and adopt rules and regulations that apply to postal services in international transport. The Universal Postal Union currently gathers 191 member states.
