Croatian Post is implementing a pilot projectZagreb, 24 July 2019 – Starting from 15 July, all domestic and foreign users can exchange cryptocurrencies for Croatian kuna in post offices in Zadar in a few simple steps. After submitting a request, the QR code is scanned and you receive cash in the post office. At the moment, it is possible to exchange the five most popular cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stellar, Ripple and EOS).
In recent years, the number of cryptocurrency users has been growing and, with its 1016 post offices, Croatian Post will certainly contribute to their popularity. Digitalisation is one of Croatian Post's development strategies and a driver for many business projects. By entering the market of digital currencies, Croatian Post has affirmed its position as one of the leaders in digital transformation.
The pilot project, in collaboration with the Croatian company Electrocoin, which has been running the bitcoin-mjenjacnica.hr service for five years, is being implemented in three post offices in Zadar (Ul. Šimuna Kožičića Benje 1, Ul. Josipa Jurja Strossmayera 8 and Ul. akcije Maslenica 1), which will show the market interest in this type of service. Croatian Post's aim is to offer the option of exchanging cryptocurrencies in all larger residential areas and tourist centres in Croatia.
