If you need to transfer money to a neighboring country quickly and reliably, use the international electronic postal order.

The international electronic postal order (ECI or MPE order) is an electronic money transfer service offered by Croatian Post.

How to send money using the international electronic postal order?

You can send money from Croatia to countries with which an agreement is in place to exchange electronic orders. Visit a post office that provides this service, complete an ECI-2 Form (Send Money), present a valid identity document (identity card, passport) and give the money to our employee. You will make your payment in HRK according to Hrvatska poštanska banka’s exchange rate. After making your payment, please insert the control number in the ECI-2 Form and notify it to the payee so that the order could be disbursed.

How to receive money using the international electronic postal order?

If you need to withdraw money sent using an MPE order, the payer needs to provide you with the following particulars:
  • the MPE order control number;
  • the exact amount;
  • payer’s full name and address; and
  • the password (if any).
Money can be withdrawn at post offices providing the MPE service. You are required to complete an ECI-1 Form (Receive Money) and present a valid identity document (identity card, passport). The money will be paid to you in a few minutes. Withdrawals are only possible in HRK, at Hrvatska poštanska banka’s exchange rate.

The main benefits of sending money using the international electronic postal order:
  • the money can be withdrawn after only 30 minutes;
  • the money can be withdrawn no later than 30 days following the payment date;
  • if the payee fails to withdraw the money within this time, a refund can only be made at the request of the payer;
  • if the payer does not ask for a refund, Croatian Post will provide him with a refund notice. The payer can withdraw the money subject to presenting the notice and certified form;
  • payments and withdrawals are only made at the request of the payer or payee; and
  • the payer can include a short message to the payee in the order.
