Croatian Sustainability Index Award in the Public Enterprises Category
ZAGREB, November 7, 2023 – On Tuesday, November 7, during the Sustainable Development Conference held at the "Esplanade" Hotel in Zagreb, Croatian Post received the Croatian Sustainability Index (HRIO) award in the Public Enterprises category. The HRIO is an initiative that assesses the voluntary sustainability practices of Croatian companies. The award was accepted on behalf of Croatian Post by its CEO, Ivan Čulo.
The Croatian Sustainability Index is in line with the latest European directives and standards, global ratings, and sustainable development goals. It allows for comparisons with the practices of other Croatian companies that integrate sustainable development into their business operations above and beyond legal obligations, effectively managing their impact on the environment and society. The Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development has organized the fifteenth consecutive conference, and the awards are presented in collaboration with the Croatian Employers' Association.
Croatian Post's goal is climate-neutral operations, and the company has already taken significant steps in that direction. They have the largest green vehicle fleet in Croatia, with over 420 electric vehicles, and are developing their network of electric vehicle charging stations, with more than 80 stations set to be operational throughout Croatia this year. Thanks to these efforts, the company expects to reduce CO2 emissions by over 1300 tons annually.
Croatian Post is committed to developing its business in a sustainable direction, with a strong focus on environmental protection and the communities it serves. Sustainable business practices are a cornerstone of the new Corporate Strategy "Pošta2025(30)”, and the company has reaffirmed its commitment by joining international initiatives with concrete and measurable goals.
